Day 3 of a 365-Day Portrait of Canada: Visitors walk along road in Dinosaur Provinical Park, Alberta

More fossil species have been discovered in Dinosaur Provincial Park than at any other single location in the world. The fossilized remains of over 300 species of animals and plants (including 35 species of dinosaurs) have been found in the park. The United Nations recognizes this as a Heritage site and it is known all over the world. I thought it was absolutely incredible when we arrived. It is like the Canadian version of the Grand Canyon! There are lots of great hikes and camping there as well. It really is worth the drive – you won’t be disappointed.
