Truro
(2006 population 11,765 [1]; urban area population 22,777 [1], conglomeration area population 45,777[2]) is a town in central Nova Scotia, Canada. Truro is the shire town of Colchester County and is located on the south side of the Salmon River floodplain, close to the river’s mouth at the eastern end of Cobequid Bay.

A father and son take a morning stroll in Victoria park, a 1000 acre old growth forest in the heart or Truro. Possibly Canada’s largest old growth forest with a city. Natural areas this size are nowadays are unheard of.
I met this family while walking in Victoria park, they were heading home after a morning of fishing for speckled trout.

The 22nd “bless the bikers” biker rally was held in Truro, right in Victoria park with over 300 bikers travelling from across Nova Scotia. This wasn’t a drink fest or anything like that, but more of an opportunity to get together and see old friends and of course the bikes. I snapped away freely and made plenty of new friends. The atmosphere was upbeat and everyone was open to a new face, even if you didn’t have a bike.
A moment of silence for the bikers killed in the past year in accidents across Nova Scotia.
