Faces I met and enjoyed today

Not one person turned me down today when i asked them to photograph them for the Canadian Flag Mosaic. No one! Just think of how amazing 2010 faces will look together in a 8×20 foot portrait flag. I will cry the day it is finally finished. Every person adds to the power of the mosaic. Just look at them shine, what a beautiful bunch of people we Canadians are. Be proud Canada you truly are a model of multiculturalism and understanding. I challenge everyone of you to meet someone new tomorrow and learn something new about a total stranger. Smile its free. You have nothing to fear except fear it’s self.

“Photography records the gamut of feelings written on the human face, the beauty of the earth and skies that man has inherited, and the wealth and confusion man has created. It is a major force in explaining man to man.”

Edward Steichen

I was drawn to this young boy’s intense gaze as he watch the drummers beat the Pow Wow drum, I just knew he was deep in thought dreaming of the day he too would learn to also drum, sing and dream his culture. It was a beautiful moment.
