Sometimes the people I meet want to have a photo taken with me. I always find this flattering and a little uncomfortable, because I much prefer to behind the camera. I met Ian in Sooke and saw him days later in Victoria and I remembered his name. He was as surprised as I was that I could recall his name. I start each portrait by shaking the person’s hand and getting their name.
