Celebrate Canada 2010 – defining Canada's cultural tapestry in 2010

The Canadian Flag Mosaic – A 2010 portrait flag depicting the new face of Canada

The modern-day face of Canada will be reflected in a large-format Canadian flag mosaic measuring 8×20 foot in size. This mosaic is made up of 2010 portraits gathered from across Canada in 2008, 2009 and 2010. The flag mosaic is the centerpiece for the Celebrate Canada 2010 project, celebrating Canada at the end of the first decade of the new millennium. Its sole purpose is to dazzle and intrigue viewers with Canada’s amazing woven tapestry of people of varying nationalities and diverse cultural backgrounds.

The flag mosaic will be the most comprehensive and up-to-date portrait series of the nation in 2010. It will redefine who we are as a people though its sheer inclusion of people from all regions of Canada. How exciting!
The flag mosaic alone has all the ingredients of become an exciting visual arts attraction at your event in 2010. Online viewers can scroll over a screen-sized Canadian flag mosaic and a larger pop-up photo/tile will appear with text providing the viewer a fun, interactive and educational art piece
