Day 43 – Glen the sculptor behind his studio with some of his creations, Montreal

Near the tracks where we walk our dogs, are a number of metal sculptures standing tall amidst the dying foliage. It turns out that Glen, one of the neighborhood’s local artists (that we met in the alley behind our place) is responsible for this little modern-day sculpture garden. If it weren’t for him, this urban treasure trove would be nothing but an open space filled with waist-high weeds. Glen was kind enough to show us his studio and his impromptu forest that he has planted out back. This is a man with a wonderful talent for re-inventing recycled metal and every day objects into real works of art. Check out his sculptures on the corner of Van Horne and St. Urbain – you can’t miss it. It’s in the vacant lot next to the train tracks and the Hassidic Boys School.
