Day 82 of a 365-Day Portrait of Canada: Shop ’til you drop!

Shots of the Day:

Recession, what recession? 1000’s of well-dressed Canadians of all ages filed into downtown Eaton’s centre in Toronto to buy Christmas gifts. Outside on Yonge Street it was the same story, with sidewalks full of shoppers hurrying about (in many cases with bags in both hands). Perhaps the recession is only on paper at this point, but downtown Toronto certainly was a buzz of shopping frenzy today. We did notice that a lot of designer furniture stores seemed absent of shoppers though.  Maybe people are buying smaller gifts this year in anticipation of a recession, but they are still making purchases!
