A windy fall day in Vancouver

A dead purple rose hangs from Rene Boulet’s name,

one of 1000’s which is etched into a wall of steel, marking Vancouver citizens who’ve died from AIDS.

Vancouver’s bike trails were abnormally quiet today with winds reaching 50km/hr, it might have been quicker to walk.

Leaves rot on a black pavement surface in Stanley Park.

As I swirled around the 1000’s of leaves that had decorated every square foot of ground, I thought of each of them each as individual souls from across the lands, each special with their own characteristics, history and written story.

Which one am I?

An afternoon adventure!

I watch in disbelief was these two ladies walked out of the Stanley Park Lawn Bowling Club, made their way over to a park bench, produced a book, held hands and proceeded to read a book aloud. How sweet.
