Pix Of The Day – On assignment in Iqaluit, NU

A major wind storm the night before leaves the snow looking like ocean waves.

Despite the minus 30 degree weather, these young adventures were out on Frobisher Bay kite sailing over the hard packed snow.

Housing in Iqaluit, NU, is very pricey, would you believe this house is worth $500,000?

David and Erin are my hosts while in Iqaluit, saving me $100’s of dollars in hotel fees, thanks guys!

A cab ride is $6 per people anywhere in Iqaluit, the landscape is doted with people on foot, dog sleds, quads, snow machines and cars, that’s if your lucky you have your own car. Getting a car in Iqaluit requires floating it from Quebec in a sea container, which of course is very pricey.

This is the Iqaluit high school. The architecture in Iqaluit, reminds me of the si-fi show “Space 1999”, with one storey, steel-clad building with small windows.

“Polar Man” is Iqaluit’s super hero, he spends his day shovelling snow and baby sitting.
