Day 135 of a 365-Day Portrait of Canada: The last day of Carnaval de Quebec!!

Bonhomme,  the famous snowman from the Quebec’s winter Carnaval, is for sure bigger than Elvis and possibly bigger than Celine Dion here in Quebec city. People went crazy when Bonhomme was leaving the Carnaval. Little children were waving frantically, old men had huge smiles, and the women would have thrown themselves at Bonhomme if there weren’t so many people in the way. Bonhomme is a god of sorts here in Quebec; everyone loves the big chubby snowman! Its great to see a cultural icon adored that isn’t a spoiled sports star, or a rich rock star, just a normal snowman full of goodness.
